EU lectures Italy, Lega’s Salvini calls it ‘another interference from unelected’

The Leader of Italy’s anti-mass migration Lega party, Matteo Salvini, has hit back after after the EU’s Immigration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos weighed in and said that he didn’t want to see a change of migration policy in the country.

Avramopoulos has been quoted as saying of Italy’s new government: “We hope there are no changes on the line of migration policy”.

He also said that any change to policy on the budget or economy in Italy wouldn’t be welcome either.

This has sparked a big reaction from Salvini who tweeted: “Yet another interference from unelected. We have welcomed and maintained too much, now is the time of legality, security and rejections!”

Right across Europe, politicians have had enough of interference from Brussels. And don’t forget, Salvini’s Lega could soon be part of the governing coalition in Italy.
