Polish president starts US visit



Polish President Andrzej Duda was on Wednesday starting a four-day visit to the United States, a trip during which he was scheduled to chair a UN Security Council debate and meet Poles living in America.

President Duda was to make a major speech during the United Nations Security Council debate on the role of international law in maintaining international peace and security, according to a senior aide to the Polish leader.

“This will be a very interesting speech and I think it will include numerous issues important for Poles,” Duda’s chief of staff, Krzysztof Szczerski, said, as quoted on the president.pl website.

Representatives from around 60 countries have said they would take part in the debate in New York, according to Szczerski.
