Britain has a new hero – Jim Ratcliffe. He’s just topped the Sunday Times 2018 rich list, he was raised in a council house, went to a grammar school and hates the idea of a United States of Europe.
Ratcliffe has an estimated worth of £21.05bn (while Remoaner Jamie Oliver drops off the list…try not to look too happy about that!)
He was brought up initially in a council house in Failsworth, moves to Yorkshire, attended a grammar school and then went onto university before absolutely smashing it in the world of business with his chemical firm, Ineos.
In 2015, he launched a scathing attack on the EU, saying: “The Brits are perfectly capable of managing the Brits and don’t need Brussels telling them how to manage things,” he said.
“I just don’t believe in the concept of a United States of Europe. It’s not viable.”
This comes just after news that the Tories are looking to increase funding for grammar schools to take in more children from low income backgrounds. Jim Ratcliffe is the reason why this is a good idea.
And he doesn’t like the EU superstate – what’s not to like?
